A stunning, modern rendition of Chardonnay, if you think you don't like 'oak' we urge you to try this! The Somewhat Known Chardonnay is from the sub-region of Banghoek in Stellenbosch. This wine perfectly balances oak and fruit. The nose is full and toasty, whilst on the palate there is rich fruit balance by excellent freshness. Its restrained power makes this very versatile for matching - creamy chicken dishes or pan-fried fish would fit the bill nicely.
Wildeberg wines express the most captivating Franschhoek Valley and neighbouring areas' fruit. Somewhat Known's Banghoek fruit is aged in a single Stockinger demi-muid - considered by many to be the 'Rolls-Royce' of oak cooperage - that renders this wine the very definition of poise and balance, with mouth-filling texture and crescendo of a finish despite its restrained 12.5% abv.
