If intense, balanced and beautiful Chardonnay is your thing (and let’s face it, it probably is) then this excellent Santenay Blanc is guaranteed to blow your mind.
The Burgundian town of Santenay is a spa town as well as a winemaking hub, and we definitely think we can feel a definite sense of luxury in the finished wines! It’s not a region as well-known as some of the Burgundian big hitters, but as with many of these hidden parcels of secret land, Santenay offers simply delicious wines at mind-bogglingly good prices. The region is traditionally a red wine specialist, so we’re very proud to have unearthed this unusual Santenay Blanc – you’re going to love it!
Fragrant aromas of honeysuckle, lemon curd and fresh almonds lead into a palate that is full yet refreshing- generous notes of white peach and apple blossom combine with refreshing acidity and a slight minerality to create a real Burgundian taste sensation.

Great wines come from Nicolas Potel which is exactly why back in 2005 several local wine growers proposed he take over their vineyards. For Nicolas, it presented the perfect opportunity to do what he had always wanted to do – control the entire process from vineyard to market.
Domaine de Bellene is located in a historic Abbey in the city of Beaune (which was actually called Bellene - until the middle Ages), renowned for its Burgundy wines. Nicolas personally chose the name in honour of the beautiful city historically linked with wine and famous for its diversity of terroirs.
True to his dream, Domaine de Bellene maintains that control - crafting their wines in organic farming and cultivating the vines with the greatest respect for the soil to ensure the highest level of authenticity and quality. The entire process, all the way to your glass, is precisely what he set to do, and exactly why we think his
wines are so special.
