A multi-award winning, wonderfully poised example of Albarino. We adore this wine for it's tension, concentration, nerve and energy.
Fresh almost tropical aromas then stone fruit and citrus on the palate with a creamy texture, mineral notes, vibrant acidity and classic saline characters. Quite ripe and complex in style but with fresh balancing acidity and a classic saline character. This is an absolute benchmark Albariño from one of the top producers - the '23 vintage being oe of the best in recent memory, according to winemaker Diego Ríos.
Produced from 100% estate-grown Albariño sourced from the warmest plots of Finca Tremoedo vineyard in Vilanova de Arousa - just a kilometre from the sea. The vines are around 35 years old, and are pergola-trained in sandy granite soils. Grapes are hand-harvested into 17kg crates. All free-run juice, with long skin contact (12 hours) and fermentation in stainless steel using indigenous yeasts. The wine is aged on fine lees for 8 months.

Producer
Bodegas Granbazan was established in the heart of the Val do Salnés, Rías Baixas, in 1981. The winery and Bordeaux-style manor house is at the centre of the 13.5 hectare Finca Tremoedo vineyard. Their focus is purely on the Albariño grape and to that end the vineyard was planted in 1980 with a range of Albariño clones from across Galicia. Finca Tremoedo consists of 10 different plots, each with its own microclimate, and each tended and harvested separately.
